It is an honor to announce the March 2009 publishing of "Remembering Medina County: Tales from Ohio's Western Reserve" by our very own Judy Totts! The book contains over 55 black and white photographs and in this collection of her "Time Frame" columns, Judy Totts tells the story of Civil War soldiers and run away slaves, passionate inventors and poets. Through her great wit and charming style, Totts evokes the sights, sounds and smells of home and captures the true essence of Medina County.

There will be an author discussion and signing at the General Meeting of the Medina County Historical Society on Monday, April 13th at 7:30 pm. The event will take place at the Medina County District Library in the Community Room. Lets show her our support and make sure you congratulate her when you see her!

Congratulations Judy!!!

Thank you from Deanna R. Clucas, Aquarius Co-Chair

To everyone who participated in our 5th Annual Aquarius Exhibition, whether you were an artist and/or committee member, THANK YOU.  Enclosed in this newsletter is the Award List and Juror’s Statement in which Jack Liberman, a very prominent oil painter from Akron and a teacher for 30 plus years, encourages everyone, no matter your skill level to keep entering the shows.  There would have been many more awards given if we could have let him do that.  Each year our show gets better as each artist strives to outdo themselves from the year before. Keep it up everyone!

Visit our Aquarius Exhibition page to read more and view all the award winners!

Our second Breakfast Critique Club at Panera Bread was a great success. Deanna Clucas was a wonderful andinformative guest artist and we all had a great timechatting, getting to know each otherand learning the ins and outs of a good painting. Mark your calendars for March 3rd, 8:30-11 a.m. Ann Kah will be our guest artist. She's been painting for many years, works in lots of different mediums and has a fine eye for a good painting. She currently is one of the leaders of the Crooked River Gang in Cuyahoga Valley.

If anyone has not been receiving the reminders for the critique clubplease let us know.

Thanks,Christine Tidwell and Lee Beuther
